The short version
We collect as little as possible. Your membership is handled by Patreon, your payment details never touch this site, and the data we do keep is limited to running your access and measuring which stories people enjoy.
What we collect
- Membership data from Patreon. When you sign in, Patreon tells us your Patreon account ID and which membership tier you hold. That is stored as a signed cookie in your browser so your unlocks restore. We never receive your card details — billing lives entirely on Patreon.
- Usage analytics. Page views, story clicks, play starts and progress, and paywall interactions are measured with Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel so we know which stories to write more of. Events are anonymized aggregates — they are not linked to your membership.
- Technical logs. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.
Cookies we set
nae_site— remembers which story catalog you are browsing.nae_session— your sign-in and membership tier. Removing it simply signs you out.nae_oauth— a one-time value that protects the sign-in flow. Deleted immediately after use._fbp / _fbc— set by Meta for advertising measurement.
Who else is involved
- Patreon — memberships, payments and your account there follow Patreon’s own privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosts this website.
- Google (Analytics 4) and Meta — audience measurement and advertising.
Your choices
- Sign out any time from the site footer — that clears your membership cookie.
- You can request deletion of the membership data tied to your Patreon account via the contact page.
- Ad personalization can be controlled in your Meta/Google account settings.
